2008 band toured UK - London - Scotland

May 1st, 2008

Concert Band photo

This spring our honors level concert band will be traveling to Great Britain, exploring the country where high school bands originated and sharing concert stages w/ local students. The 10-day tour takes us through London, Bath, Canterbury, and Edinburgh. We are looking forward to a wonderful adventure and fund-raising efforts are underway. The cost per person is $2500 and we have approximately 100 students/30 chaperones taking the trip.

We are asking the Stadium Alumni to support our plan to showcase the fabulous Stadium High School Concert Band on an international stage!!

“FUND A STUDENT”

No student will be left behind because of financial difficulty.

This SHS Band Scholarship Fund is designed to support those students who would not be able to travel without additional assistance.

“FROM OUR CASTLE TO YOURS” t-shirt

This long-sleeve t-shirt will have our band slogan on the front with the sleeves and back of the shirt listing the names of businesses that support us. These shirts would be worn on all airline travel days and would serve as part of our official “travel uniform”.

For $100 contribution your business will be listed on the back of the t-shirt. For $200, a business card sized ad will be printed on the sleeves. Business card donors will be limited to the first 20 spots and will show the world that you are a true Stadium High School Fan!!! If you wish to be part of the t-shirt project for $100, please send your name with business name, address, contact person and phone number. Please enclose your business card if you wish to be on the sleeves for $200.

If you have additional questions about the t-shirt project, please contact Holly Walter @ 253-925-8905. Her email is we5walters@comcast.net

If you would like to donate to the “Fund A Student” Scholarships or the T-Shirt Ad project, please send your check payable to:

February 1st, 2008

Meanwhile, next Band Booster meeting is Monday, February 11 at 6 PM-band room.

*Agenda/Update - Hi all- please join us for this month’s Band Booster meeting-Monday, 2/11 @ 6PM in the Band Room.

Jazz band parents-do you want to try to find another shirt vendor? Costco no longer carries the shirts we have used the last few years and we need women’s choices-a catalogue like LLBean, Lands End,etc may be our best bet. Maybe this spring is the time to get started on deciding color choice for next year? Ties? Yes/No? Please bring your ideas…6-6:15PM. Is there a JB parent who wants to take this on?

We will review upcoming events for Feb/March.

For England/Scotland trip participants, please bring your papers requiring notarization-Chris Rowan and her official notary seal will be w/ us Mon eve to get moving on completing our paperwork. Thanks, Chris!!!
